TFabs Term of the of Week – TWEED
|
TFabs Term of the Week today is: TWEED.
TWEED – A style of wool weave, known the world over. The name Tweed originates in Scotland in the 19th century. The cloth, traditionally made in Ireland and Scotland, is popular for its durability and style.
Woven in a twilled pattern and made from wool, Tweed is perfect for country sports clothing, for which is first became popular. A warm and water and wind resistant fabric, tweed has become as much to do with fashion as functionality over the years. Common tweed weaves are patterns such as herringbone, check and houndstooth. From Burberry to Daks, tweed has been used by virtually every international design house at one time or another.
