TFabs Term of the Week today is: BIAS BINDING. BIAS BINDING – a narrow band of fabric used to finish and/or decorate the edges of garments. Bias binding is cut on the bias, meaning that it more easily follows the curve of a fabric edge without rippling. It’s great for piping and edging seams in all sorts of projects with a curved edge, such as arm holes, necklines, sleeves, quilts, jackets and bags.
You can buy bias binding in a pretty large range of colours, or if you feel more ambitious or can’t find the colour you need, you can make your own if you! See these handy instructions on how to make your own bias binding at isew.co.uk |
