Cotton Babycord Fabric - Delph

This Pure Cotton Needlecord in Delph blue offers that classic corduroy texture in a much finer, lighter weight. The soothing blue shade is soft yet rich, whilst the 21-wale construction gives you that fine corduroy texture without the bulk of heavier corduroys.

The lightweight nature of this pure cotton needlecord makes it ideal for shirts, blouses, and children's clothing where you want the interest of corduroy texture but need good drape. It has enough body for structure but flows nicely for comfortable wear. The fine wales add subtle texture that works well for both casual and smarter pieces.

What is a Wale? 
A wale is simply the raised ridge or cord that runs lengthwise down corduroy fabric - it's what gives corduroy its distinctive ribbed texture. The number of wales refers to how many of these ridges fit across one inch of fabric. So 7-wale corduroy has 7 ridges per inch, making it a medium-weight cord with broader ridges, whilst 21-wale needlecord has 21 much finer ridges per inch, creating that delicate, almost velvety texture.
